Robert Service sent the first images of the land of the midnight sun and the Klondike Gold Rush, one of the most notable events in Canadian history. He wrote about a land that captured his heart and set his mind blazing with intrigue. He wrote, "Let us probe the silent places, let us seek what luck betides us, let us journey to a land I know. There's a whisper on the night wind, there's a star agleam to guide us and the wild is calling, calling....let us go". Here are images from our own intrepid adventurers!

"Our trip with Al and Lin of Canoe North Adventures exceeded all our expectations. It was an adventure in the truest sense of the word. The wilderness was humbling, beautiful and pristine. Our travelling companions are among some of the finest people we have ever met and we look forward to new and continued experiences with all of them."
Liz and Tom Perdue

"On our final evening camped on the banks of the Pelley River, I leaned up against a log, and gazed upstream feeling a powerful sense of satisfaction and a deep inner peace. As I sipped from my "adventure cup", I smiled and reflected...it just couldn't get any better than this."
Roz and Jake McArthur

"Our dream of thirty years was finally realized. It was not only the adventure but also the people. Our group developed a bond of encouragement, caring and celebration of personal goals achieved. We remember most the breathtaking views along mountain ridges on The Big Salmon and Yukon Rivers, and The Chilkoot Trail."
Sandra Van Binsbergen

"I have never seen clouds look the way that they do in the Yukon. Sometimes the colour of the sky would be mesmerizing and it was eerie to go to sleep at one in the morning when it was still light out. Flying over the vast frozen tundra of the MacKenzie delta, I was amazed at how the water wove in and out carving streams and oxbows through the mountain valleys. It was a trip I will long remember and hope to someday make again."
Judy Teller

"Thanks again for all the time and effort you both spent to make the Big Salmon Canoe Trip the huge success it was. David and I both had a wonderful time and consider it one of our most successful vacations ever!"
Kathy and David Richardson

"I watched the river grow wider below spectacular mountain peaks. The vastness was overwhelming, humbling. There were serene moments, like paddling under the midnight sun. You get so focused on living with nature. You get in touch with the land and the rhythm of the river - problems seem to fall away. It was one challenge after another, but we never lost confidence. It was tough but I never felt at risk. The Snake River expedition was a total and absolute adventure. It's one of the most positive experiences that I have had. There is something magical and mysterious about the Yukon."
